“活设计” 创意生活设计展 THE AGE OF CHINESE DESIGN月底开展

“活设计——2008中国北京798‘旋转的硬币’创意生活原创设计年展”是由中国当代新锐艺术中心798艺术区和北京原创设计推广协会联合主办，并由一贯大力推动中国创意工业成长的国内最出色的城市生活杂志《城市画报》协办，旨在促进创意生活与原创设计的大型国际活动。本次展览将是国内首度汇集两岸三地最具前瞻以及开拓性的产品设计师及设计作品的盛会，以极具创意的各项生活用品展示中国新一代设计师对于优质生活的独特感悟以及创意结晶。本次展览也是创刊9周年的《城市画报》周年庆典系列活动中最重要的一次大型城市公众创意活动。

The Age of Chinese Design, a joint effort of the Beijing 798 Art Zone, Beijing Original Design Promotion Association (BODA) and City Pictorial, one of China’s most prominent urban lifestyle magazines and a constant vehicle for creativity in contemporary China. As the first collaborative gathering of designers from "greater China" (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), the exhibition strives to provide inspiration for creative living and original design through its all-embracing collection. By bringing some of the best designer works from Greater China under the same roof, The Age of Chinese Design is not only the core constituent of City Pictorial’s 9th Anniversary, but can also arguably be one of the most important events in creative industry.

阵容强大的策展团队包括了两岸三地的重要创作人代表：《城市画报》副主编、iMART创意市集创办人之一黎文担任总策展人，联席策展人分别为香港著名创作人欧阳应霁、台湾著名创意人包益民、内地著名设计师石川和旅日著名设计师朱锷（无印良品特邀展）。他们将携手《城市画报》，精心遴选两岸三地最出色的创意生活用品，以超出人们想像的方式刷新旧有的思想和概念，体验创意带来的生活新感觉。

The curator team includes: Li Wen, deputy editor-in-chief of City Pictorial, who will also be serving as curator-in-chief for the exhibition; Renowned HK-based cross-media artist Craig Au Yeung Ying Chai, prominent creator Imin Pao from Taiwan, award-winning designer Tom Shi Chuan from Guangzhou and experienced graphic designer/ publisher Zhu E will act as curators of HK, Taiwan, mainland China sections and MUJI special zone respectively. They’ve worked meticulously with City Pictorial for the past few months, making this exhibition a reality.

本次展览希望在2008年向全世界展示一个来自日常生活的创意中国，并希望通过此次展览可以探讨21世纪的中国设计精神。展览以日常生活的巨大变化为线索，展示和探讨创意生活用品设计。充满创见和生活感的体验式展览空间设计，为参观者开启源自生活、又如梦似幻的美妙观展之旅。

The Age of Chinese Design tends to shake off old images and show to the world a new China with innovative spirit, which is found in the changes – even in the most trivial aspect – of Chinese people’s daily lives. The exhibition will take these changes as clues and examine design as life attitudes and styles. The exhibition, to be held in Beijing 798 Art Zone from Oct 31st to Nov 3rd, consists of several designated zones in 3,000 sqm and promises to provide a fresh and inspirational experience.

由设计师朱锷策展的全球知名生活设计品牌无印良品特邀展“无印良品的中国天空”的加入，为本次设计年展添上了一重国际视野；展览期间还会设置系列创意论坛，其中“创意市集是我们大家的”公共论坛将特邀《创意市集》作者王怡颖、台北CAMPO发起人及国内关注创意产业的志同道合者，集合众人的智慧为创意市集和中国创意工业出谋划策。相信通过全方位的跨界运作，展览将成为中国创意设计力量的一种表述，并推动本土创意生活产品设计领域的互动，不间断向大众提供创意的参与方式与创意生活思想。

The exhibition is complemented by Encounter with MUJI in China, a special designated zone curated by renowned graphic designer Zhu E. Aiming to showcase the real essence of MUJI and reveal secrets of the brand’s global success; it also gives the exhibition an international scope. The Age of Chinese Design will also present "iMART belongs to EVERYONE", one of a series of insightful forums for creativity industry. Guest speakers include Yi-Ying Wang (author of Fashion Market), initiator of Taipei's CAMPO and a group of creativity industry experts, practitioners and professionals. A valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and expertise, our forums provide a discussion platform for all to explore new solutions for the development of iMART and China’s creativity industry. Visitors and participants will most certainly benefit from the speakers’ presentations as the exhibition serves to continuously provide inspirations for better living.

In this book, 100 Londoners were treated as each individual project and asked to answer a questionnaire in their own words/writings and also bare their soul by opening up their personal carry bag and share it with the rest of the world. This fun project blends design, london life style, fashion, trendy bag styles and photography together and plays on people's insatiable curiosity as to what people have tucked away inside their bags.
